Energy supplier ELGAS – part of the GGE energy group – appoints new director

11. March 2021

There has been a management change at GGE – the Slovak energy group. ELGAS, s.r.o. which supplies energy to businesses and households, has a new director. Introducing Jiřina Hinnerová, who brings the group her experience from market leaders such as the formerly French Gaz de France and the domestic SPP.

“I believe that I will bring a breath of fresh air to Elgas. We will soon start promoting ourselves more in the SME segment,” says Jiřina Hinnerová. After the consolidation of Elgas in the previous period, the company’s new business policy will focus mainly on the Slovak market – where Ms. Hinnerová had extensive experience with SPP. The expansion of the SME customer portfolio will deliver the company better stability and forecastable growth.

I’m delighted to welcome Jiřina to the group. In recent years much time and energy has been invested into the restructuring and optimization of processes at Elgas. So we’re handing over a functional and flexible company to Jiřina. I look forward to what she and her team can contribute,” observes Jan Vymazal, GGE’s CEO.

“I have held various management positions with responsibility for energy sales (business and retail customers), marketing, and teams of various sizes. I’m confident that I can utilise this extensive experience at Elgas,” she adds. Jiřina joins GGE from NAFIGATE, where she was CEO of R&D material and technology.

Elgas, s.r.o, a member of the GGE Group, has been trading and supplying electricity and natural gas, including support services, to clients on the Slovak market since 2000. Elgas is a leading energy supplier on the market, supplying customers with 0.6 TWh of electricity and 3.2 TWh of gas in 2018.

Founded in 2007, the GGE Group is one of the fastest-growing energy companies in CEE with annual sales of EUR 300 million. Over 20 companies in the GGE Group cover the entire energy cycle – from the supply of fuel for energy production, through the production and distribution of energy, operation and maintenance of energy production facilities. The GGE Group is also active in international markets, for example in Poland where since 2017 it has owned DUON – a liquefied natural gas supplier.

The strategic investor in GGE since 2015 has been the British investment fund Infracapital, which is part of Prudential – the global financial and insurance group. In addition to guaranteeing stability and reliability, this strategic partnership has provided GGE’s clients with financial strength that enables further growth in the Central European region. Infracapital’s investment fund draws on the resources of M&G Plc, which manages assets of over GBP 341 billion, investing GBP 1.2 billion in Infracapital.
